Vandalizing a Road Sign?

There is a road sign near the home of my perspective girlfriend that reads, "Rocks." I am considering writing the name of the perspective girlfriend above the word "Rocks" and drawing a heart bellow the word. Can you please tell me of the chances of getting in trouble with law enforcement for this? (I would be doing it late at night, when there would likely be minimal traffic.)
