What were some negative side effects that you had using Depo Provera?

Personally i was always on my period. It never stopped for me. And i got worried because i thought maybe when i used Depo my uterus would enlarge and i would have breakthrough bleeding and nonstop. Now that i never took my 4th shot i thought it would clear up and lose its effectiveness but i kept having period. And only now once doc put me on lo/orval i had my period finally stop. Does that mean i dont have fibroid, or any other problems and my doc was right about my hormone imbalance and that is why i needed some birth control pills to even out what depo done to me>? What was your experience with Depo? If you decided to stop taking them what happened?
